Amanda Ramirez
Amanda is a Doctoral Candidate at Wheaton College specializing in Neuropsychology. She earned her Master's in Psychology from Pepperdine University, as well as an additional Master's in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College. She has trained in private practice, medical settings, and she is currently an advanced neuropsychology extern at the University Illinois at Chicago Neuropsychiatric Institute in Chicago, IL. She provides neuropsychological evaluations for pediatric patients, as well cognitive-behavioral therapy for epilepsy and trauma across the lifespan. Amanda enjoys working with children, families, and individuals, and she approaches her work from a cognitive behavioral orientation, as well as a culturally sensitive bioecological model to meet a wide range of needs and identities. Her research focuses on neurodevelopment and the persistence of these disorders across the lifespan, with a particular interest in interventions for specific learning disorders, such as dyslexia, as well as rare genetic disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. She is an advocate for resilience building strategies to help empower her clients and their families to provide them with the tools to be successful and self-sufficient outside of therapy. Amanda loves spending time with her family, her pets, and being outdoors.
